Seattle Reign FC has re-signed defender Kristen McNabb for the 2019 season. As per club and league policy, terms were not disclosed.
“I’m so excited to be returning to Seattle for a third year,” said McNabb. “I love the organization, the city, and the fans and I’m excited to build on the success of last season.”
Reign FC selected McNabb with the 37th overall pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft out of the University of Virginia. In her first season with the club, McNabb played in 18 games, starting 14, for a total of 1,307 minutes. A highlight of the season included scoring her first professional goal on April 22, 2017 against the Houston Dash.
In 2018, McNabb started 12 matches and played in 20 for a total of 1,159 minutes. She recorded 25 tackles and was a regular presence in a stellar defensive unit. Reign FC’s defense recorded a record-tying 12 clean sheets in 2018, only conceding 21 goals all season.
“Kristen is a very solid competitor,” said head coach Vlatko Andonovski. “She works hard in training, she’s consistent, and I look forward to seeing the impact she has on our defense next season.”
