Midfielder Morgan Proffitt has signed with Reign FC for the 2019 NWSL season.
"I am super excited and thankful for the opportunity to play for Reign FC,” said Proffitt. “The skills and talent of the women on this team is really incredible. I'm looking forward to growing as a player being surrounded by the best, being led by quality coaches, and playing in first class facilities. Reign FC has been so successful in the past and I hope to help us bring home a championship this season. I can't wait to get started!”
Proffitt has been playing with SK Slavia Praha in the Czech First Division since June 2018. She was selected by the Chicago Red Stars with the 12th pick in the 2017 NWSL College Draft after playing two seasons with the Red Stars Reserves while in college at Marquette University. She was waived by the Red Stars in August 2017 and was subsequently picked up by the Washington Spirit. In June 2018, Proffitt was waived after she and the Spirit reached a mutual agreement to part ways, allowing her to play in Europe.
“I’m looking forward to working with Morgan this season,” said Reign FC head coach Vlatko Andonovski. “She’s a talented player with a lot of potential and I know she’ll be a valuable addition to our midfield.”
