Reign FC Re-Signs Forward Jodie Taylor for 2020 Season

Reign FC has re-signed forward Jodie Taylor to a one-year contract for the 2020 season with an additional one-year option, the club announced today.

Taylor played a huge role in Reign FC’s playoff push last season, leading the team with three assists while adding five goals, good for second-best on the squad. More importantly, Taylor’s offensive production came at critical moments in most matches; Taylor’s game-winning or game-tying goals and assists directly led to 12 of Reign FC’s 38 points.

Notably, Taylor scored the game-winning goal against the Portland Thorns on September 29, helping the club clinch a playoff spot for the second consecutive year.

In addition to her club play last season, Taylor helped the England women’s national team advance to the World Cup semifinals, including scoring the game-winning goal against Argentina in the group stage.

“I am pleased to be returning to Reign FC for the 2020 season,” Taylor said. “There have been some exciting developments this off season, which I feel will only strengthen the club and team. I am eager to get started on what will be a promising year.”
