Austen Everett Foundation Honorary Captain: Kaia Jeppeson

During the NWSL Fall Series, OL Reign, as part of its longstanding partnership with the Austen Everett Foundation, will select an Honorary Team Captain ahead of every match. OL Reign is proud to celebrate Kaia Jeppeson as the club’s Honorary Captain for the October 10 match against Portland Thorns FC.

Playful, seven-year-old Kaia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) back in March. One month later, she was, thankfully, in remission. She enjoys playing with her little sister, playing sports and going outside. Her favorite sports are soccer, football and basketball.

To recognize Kaia as the club’s Honorary Captain, she and her sister will receive team gear to show off their OL Reign pride, as well as a video message from OL Reign player Jasmyne Spencer.

The Austen Everett Foundation works to empower kids in their fight against cancer through the strength and support of professional and collegiate athletic teams. Within the AEF Honorary Team Captain Program, a child battling cancer becomes the "Honorary Team Captain” for a day, providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to benefit from the powerful support that a team environment can provide.
