Five Can’t-Miss Seattle Reign FC Matches in 2026

Seattle Reign FC’s 2025 season was filled with a little bit of everything – from intense rivalry moments and late game-winners to debut moments and the sendoff of a club legend. After a strong run that led the team to the NWSL quarterfinals, the 2026 NWSL season is quickly approaching and with it comes an exciting slate of matches right here in Seattle.

With a schedule featuring familiar foes and league debutants, the Reign are prepared to surge into 2026, eyes firmly set on pushing the limits of greatness and bringing home the club’s first-ever NWSL Championship.

Here are five matches at Lumen Field that you simply can’t miss:

1. 2026 Lumen Field Home Opener vs. Utah Royals FC | Sunday, April 26 at 5:00 p.m. PT

After 191 days away from Lumen Field, the Reign make their triumphant return to their home stadium, taking on Utah Royals FC in the club’s 2026 Home Opener. Notably, the last match the Reign played in Seattle was against the Royals, as the team sent off club legend Lauren Barnes and picked up a crucial three points.

The match ended 2-1 in favor of the Reign, with 18-year-old standout Ainsley McCammon and NWSL all-time leader in assists Sofia Huerta scoring for the Reign. The result extended Seattle’s head-to-head record over Utah to two wins, one loss and one draw since the Royals returned to the NWSL in 2024.

2. Rivalry Match vs. Portland Thorns FC | Sunday, July 12 at 1:00 p.m. PT

There’s no rivalry quite like the Cascadia Rivalry. Born from both hatred and respect, every match up between the Reign and Thorns brings can’t-miss action. Whether the match is scoreless or record-breaking, your eyes will be glued to the pitch as the longtime foes battle it out.

In the storied rivalry, the head-to-head record has remained nearly level – a rare feat in such a heated affair. The teams captured one win apiece last season, with the Reign earning all three points at the Lumen Field fixture, propelled to victory by Maddie Dahlien’s first-ever professional goal.

It was a breakout moment for Dahlien, who finished her first NWSL season as a Rookie of the Year finalist with four goals and four assists. The electric winger recently earned her first call-up to the United States Women’s National Team.

3. Pride Match vs. Chicago Stars FC | Friday, August 14 at 7:00 p.m. PT

The Pride Match is a marquee moment for the Reign every season and 2026 is no exception. Taking place in August once again, the Reign welcome Chicago Stars FC to Lumen Field for the occasion.

In 2025, the Reign’s matches against Chicago were some of the highest scoring of the season. First, the two teams drew 2-2 in Chicago, before once again drawing in Seattle, this time by a score of 3-3. Five different Reign players scored against Chicago last season – iconic NWSL veterans Lynn Biyendolo,  Jess Fishlock and Jordyn Huitema, as well as rising stars Jordyn Bugg and Emeri Adames.

4. First Match vs. Boston Legacy FC | Friday, September 25 at 5:30 p.m. PT

The NWSL welcomes two new teams to the league this season – Denver Summit FC and Boston Legacy FC. While you can always expect the unexpected in this league, Boston has spent the off season building a strong roster of talented players, both new and old with Head Coach Filipa Patão at the helm.

Most recently, Boston added Nichelle Prince, an NWSL veteran and Olympic Gold Medalist, as well as fresh international talents Fauzia Najjemba, Jorelyn Carabalí, Andressa Ferreira and Nicki Hernandez. The teams meet in Rhode Island in May, but this September match marks the first time Seattle hosts Boston Legacy at Lumen Field.

5. Decision Day vs. Orlando Pride | Sunday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m. PT

After closing out the 2025 regular season against the Orlando Pride and the going head-to-head with the Pride again in the playoffs, the two sides are poised to do it all again in 2026. This Decision Day meeting marks the third consecutive season that Orlando and Seattle clash in their final regular season match.

This will be the first time the teams meet at Lumen Field since April 12, 2025, as they met in back-to-back matches at Inter&Co Stadium in November 2025 and will have played their 2026 season opener there on March 15.
