Five Reasons You Can't Miss Reign FC vs. Gotham FC on Friday

This Friday, May 15, Reign FC plays another match at Lumen Field, this time against NJ/NY Gotham FC. A matchup that breeds iconic moments in the Reign’s last home match until July – this is a moment you won’t want to miss. With a gate giveaway, special performances and more, lock in your tickets before it’s too late. Here are the reasons you should be there:

Last Chance to See the Team at Lumen Field Until July

This is Reign FC’s final match at Lumen Field until July 12, as the NWSL is set to observe a month-long break from play in June. After starting the season with three home-away-from-home matches in Spokane, the Reign are still searching for their first true home win under the arches at Lumen Field. The natural grass surface recently installed ahead of the men’s World Cup provides the perfect backdrop to watch the Reign take on fifth place Gotham FC.

Celebrate AANHPI HERITAGE

As part of Reign FC's RISE Purpose Platform and commitment to Advance Equity in Play and Life, the club is celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month on matchday by recognizing the impact of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities through in-stadium storytelling, cultural programming and artist collaboration.

Matchday is set to feature a special pre-match hula performance from Halau Hula Ka Lei Mokihana I Ka Ua Noe in the RISE Area, showcasing traditional Hawaiian dance, chant and cultural teachings.

In addition, Reign FC has partnered with Native Hawaiian artist Brandon Naihe (@naihedesigns) on a limited-edition scarf, with $5 from every purchase donated to the Hawaii Civic Club of Washington State. 100 scarves will be available in the Pro Shop on matchday and available on ReignFCShop.com.

World Cup Night

As announced last week, Friday marks the club’s World Cup Night, celebrating the Reign’s last match at Lumen Field before Seattle prepares to host the world as part of the 2026 FIFA men’s World Cup. It’s no secret that the NWSL is the home league of some of the world’s top talent, as demonstrated by the rosters of both Reign FC and Gotham FC.

To celebrate the occasion, the first 5,000 fans in attendance on Friday will receive a Stars and Stripes Mini Scarf, commemorating the moment and the club’s connection to the global soccer community.

World-Class Match Up

Reign FC and Gotham FC are both currently in playoff contention, as they are in eighth and fifth place respectively. The teams have a long history going head-to-head through every iteration of the league. Each squad boasts a roster full of both established international talent and up and coming young players, many of which play in the United States Women’s National Team system, making it an exciting but unpredictable match.

The head-to-head series as a whole is tightly contested, but Seattle currently leads with 12 wins, 10 losses and 10 draws. Three of the last four meetings between the Reign and Gotham have ended in a draw, including the most recent matchup between the teams at Lumen Field, which featured a 71st minute goal from Emeri Adames to level the score.

Friday Night Lights at Lumen

You can't beat the Friday Night Lights at Lumen Field! As always, there will be a plethora of fun for fans of all ages, both on and off the pitch. Highlighted by a photobooth, face painting, poster making, games and a brand new Glow Zone, the activations on the concourse provide an option for everyone in attendance.

New this month, fans also have the option to order merch from ReignFCShop.com and pick it up in stadium. Skip the lines and gear up with ease.
