Seattle Reign FC forward Jordyn Huitema is nominated for NWSL Player of the Week, presented AT&T for her performance against Chicago Stars FC. The Canadian international has appeared in 13 matches for the Reign and added two goals this season, including one against Chicago on Monday night.

Huitema was immediately a high-impact player as the match against the Stars kicked off at Lumen Field. She received a ball behind Chicago’s backline just three minutes into the match and found the feet of veteran midfielder Jess Fishlock, who made no mistake as she put her shot into the back of the net. The assist marks Huitema’s first of the season.

She continued to show out in the match, adding a goal of her own in the 34th minute. After two teammates fired off shots at Alyssa Naeher in the net, Huitema harnessed the chaos in the box with an acrobatic finish, bicycle kicking the ball into the back of the net. It was her second goal of the season and the second time in her NWSL career that Huitema has recorded both a goal and an assist in the same match.

Huitema was tied for the most duels won in the match and created the most chances of any Reign player on the field (4). She won 100% of her aerial duels and was the only forward on the squad to make an interception in the match.
