International Roundup: October Call Ups

Ahead of Decision Day, 12 Reign FC players joined their respective national teams to attend training camps and compete in a series of friendly matches. Seven senior national team players saw the field, while five youth national team players trained with the U-23 and U-20 United States Women’s National Teams.

 

United States Women’s National Team | Jordyn Bugg and Claudia Dickey

Jordyn Bugg and Claudia Dickey each made two appearances for the United States Women’s National Team – one against Portugal and one against New Zealand. Both players earned their third and fourth USWNT caps at the senior level and were part of a defense that conceded just one goal across the two matches, while the adding nine on the opposite end of the pitch.

 

Canada Women’s National Team | Jordyn Huitema

Jordyn Huitema appeared in both of Canada’s friendly matches over the international break. In the first match against Switzerland, a close 1-0 loss, Huitema subbed onto the pitch at halftime. In the following match against the Netherlands, Huitema started and played all 90 minutes in the match – another narrow loss for the Canadians. The caps marked her 91st and 92nd for Canada.

 

Wales Women's National Team | Jess Fishlock and Angharad James-Turner

Jess Fishlock closed out her iconic Welsh National Team career in the team’s friendly against Australia. Though Cymru suffered a 2-1 loss, Fishlock, who started the match and played 90 minutes, was met with a standing ovation as she exited the pitch for the final time. Angharad James-Turner played a 90-minute match alongside her longtime teammate.

In their second fixture of the international window, Wales took on Poland and fell 5-2 in a back-and-forth match. James-Turner started the match on the bench and came on as a substitute in the 77th minute as Wales fought to mount a comeback.

 

Haiti Women’s National Team | Nérilia Mondesir

In Haiti’s match against Morocco in Casablanca, the team suffered a frustrating 3-0 loss. Mondesir captained the squad and played all 90 minutes. Haiti conceded just one goal in the first half but were kept off the scoresheet while Morocco added two additional goals in the second half of the match.

 

Switzerland | Ana-Maria Crnogorčević

Switzerland had a solid showing over the international break, picking up two wins against Canada and Scotland. Ana-Maria Crnogorčević was available off the bench in the 1-0 win over Canada and played the second half against Scotland, her veteran presence making an instant impact for the Swiss side.

 

United States U-20 / U-23 | Emeri Adames, Maddie Dahlien, Emily Mason, Ainsley McCammon, Neeku Purcell

Adames, Dahlien, Mason and Purcell all attended training camp in Philadelphia with the U-23 group while McCammon was the lone Reign player at the U-20 training camp in Kansas City.
