Reign FC Captain Jess Fishlock: By the Numbers
Today, Seattle Reign FC legend Jess Fishlock announced that she will retire at the conclusion of the 2026 NWSL season. Dating back to the in league’s inaugural season in 2013, Fishlock’s success on the pitch has been intrinsically linked with the growth of the NWSL. An OG in the truest sense, she has helped write the history of the professional women’s game in the United States.
But she’s not done yet, this is just the final chapter. Take a look at her impressive career so far, by the numbers:
1 – Fishlock is the only player in the league history with 40+ goals and 30+ assists for one club. Her next goal will mark her 50th regular season goal.
2 – The steadfast midfielder has been named to the NWSL Second XI two times in her career (2016, 2022), as one of the most consistent players in the league.
3 – The Welsh international has led the Reign to win an NWSL Shield in three seasons. They first won the Shield back-to-back in the 2014 and 2015 seasons, before claiming it once again in 2022.
5 – Adding to her accolades, she has been named to the NWSL Best XI five times so far in her career (2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2021). Only one player in league history has earned this honor more times.
7 – A track record of success, Fishlock has been a part of seven different Reign squads that have reached the NWSL semifinals or Championship match (Championship – 2014, 2015, 2023; Semifinal – 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022).
14 – She is one of two players to appear in all 14 NWSL years (2013-2026) and all 13 NWSL regular seasons. She is the only field player to achieve this and the only player to do so with the same club every year.
