Ji So-Yun Called Up to Korea Republic Women’s National Team
Seattle Reign FC midfielder Ji So-Yun has been named to the roster for Korea Republic ahead of their EAFF E-1 Women's Football Championship matches.
The EAFF E-1 Championship is a competition to determine the strongest football country in East Asia. The women’s edition of the competition began in 2005 and since then, Japan has won the most championships of any country, with four. This iteration of the competition will feature Korea, Japan, China PR and Chinese Taipei.
Ji, a veteran at the international level, has 166 caps for Japan and 72 goals. She leads the country in goals scored and has been named South Korea’s Women’s Footballer of the Year eight times.
