Jordyn Bugg and Claudia Dickey Named to NWSL Best XI Second Team, Presented by Amazon Prime
The National Women’s Soccer League today announced the recipients of the 2025 Best XI First Team and Best XI Second Team awards, presented by Amazon Prime. The recognition honors the top 22 players in the league, as voted on by players (40%), owners/GMs/coaches (25%), media (25%) and fans (10%).
Two Reign FC players, Jordyn Bugg and Claudia Dickey, received Best XI Second Team honors.
Bugg appeared in 25 regular-season matches for the Reign, earning stalwart status in Seattle’s backline at just 19 years old. Defensively sound, Bugg finished the NWSL regular season with 129 clearances and 26 tackles won, in addition to 36 aerial duels won.
She was selected for NWSL Team of the Month twice – in March and June and was voted Reign FC’s Defender of the Year. Despite playing in the backline, the California native added three goals this season, each one deciding the result of the match. All three goals were scored on the road and her first professional goal, scored against the North Carolina Courage, is nominated for FIFA’s 2025 Marta Award.
Continuing her breakout season, Bugg also earned her first cap for the United States Women’s National Team this year. She now sits at four caps and has been named to the 26-player training camp roster for the USWNT’s upcoming matches against Italy.
Dickey was the only goalkeeper in the NWSL to play every minute of every match and was the Reign’s lone ironwoman of the 2025 season.
A first-time NWSL award winner, she made a league-high 88 saves across the regular season, achieving a goals-against average of 1.12. The 25-year-old earned seven clean sheets in 2025 and set a club record for single-season saves, surpassing a record set by Hope Solo in the NWSL’s inaugural season. Dickey earned NWSL Best XI of the Month honors in May and was voted Reign FC’s team MVP.
Outside of league play, the North Carolina native also made her United States Women’s National Team debut and has since accumulated four total caps. Most recently, she was named to the 26-player training camp roster for the USWNT’s upcoming matches against Italy.
