Key Info Ahead of the Match:

1. LAST MEETING – This match marks Reign FC’s first-ever meeting with Denver Summit FC. Summit FC joined the NWSL this season alongside Boston Legacy FC.

2. SCOUTING DENVER – Denver has four points on the season, with one win, two draws and one loss. Most recently, Denver battled to a 0-0 draw with the Washington Spirit in their inaugural home match. The fixture set a new single match NWSL attendance record with 63,004 fans in the building.

The match was a back-and-forth battle that appeared evenly matched for the majority of the 90 minutes. Washington held slightly more possession and took 10 shots compared to Denver’s nine, but the teams were level at two shots apiece on target. Denver’s lone win of the season came against Gotham FC, with Melissa Kössler and Natasha Flint adding goals in the second half of the match.

3. LAST MATCH IN SPOKANE – Seattle has enjoyed a strong showing over on the east side of the state, winning both matches they have played in ONE Spokane Stadium. First, the team made a statement in a 3-0 win against the Kansas City Current and then carried that energy into their next match against Racing Louisville FC, where they won 2-1.

The Reign will look to dazzle the Spokane audience one last time before returning to Seattle. The fans have been showing up loud and proud for the Reign, making the stadium truly feel like a home away from home. Four different Reign FC players have scored goals in Spokane – Maddie Mercado (2), Angharad James-Turner (1), Nerilia Mondesir (1) and Brittany Ratcliffe (1).

4. PLAYERS TO WATCH – For the Reign, Sam Meza has held down the midfield through the first four matches of the season, as one of five field players to start every single match. Outside of the backline, Meza is the only field player to earn four starts to begin the season. She has also notched one assist thus far.

All eyes will be on Maddie Mercado as well, as the forward has scored a goal in each of the last two games. She’ll be looking to continue that streak against an aggressive Denver backline.

For Denver, Tash Flint has made waves to start the season. A threat in front of goal, she is looking to add to her tally of one goal on the season. Similarly, Melissa Kössler has given opposing backlines trouble, as she’s netted three goals so far this season.
