Key Info Ahead of the Match:
1. LAST MEETING – Seattle and Utah last met near the end of the 2024 season at America First Field. It wasn’t the Reign’s night as the team conceded three first half goals and played the majority of the match with ten players. The teams met on two other occasions in 2024 – a 1-1 draw in the regular season and a 2-1 Seattle victory in the Summer Cup.
Tomorrow’s contest marks the 13th all-time meeting between Seattle and Utah across all competitions. Reign FC holds the edge in the series with a 7-2-3 record, outscoring the Royals 15-11.
2. SCOUTING UTAH ROYALS FC – Utah suffered its third consecutive defeat last Friday in a 3-0 home loss to NJ/NY Gotham FC. The Royals fell behind early, conceding twice before halftime despite having several attacking opportunities of their own. Utah allowed a third via a second-half penalty and were unable to mount a comeback, even as Gotham was dealt red cards in the 73rd and 96th minutes of the match. The result marked the sixth time this season Utah has failed to score and the eighth time conceding multiple goals in a match.
3. LAST MATCH BEFORE THE BREAK – This fixture is the final NWSL regular season match for the Reign until August, as the league goes on an international break. The Reign will look to close out the month of June unbeaten and wrap up a three-match road stretch. Many Reign FC players will be joining their national teams over the break, including Welsh midfielders Jess Fishlock and Angharad James-Turner, who will lead Wales to their first-ever major international tournament.
Fans can watch the match at Rough & Tumble Pub in Ballard, Queen Anne Beer Hall in Lower Queen Anne or Doyle’s Public House in Tacoma to celebrate the occasion with fellow Reign fans and enjoy various giveaways and prizes!
4. PLAYERS TO WATCH – For the Reign, midfielder Sam Meza played the final 45 minutes of last week’s match against Chicago and made an immediate impact. On the eve of her first senior national team call up for the United States, she will be a crucial part of controlling the center of the field as the Reign look to take all three points in Utah.
Similarly, Sally Menti has gained recognition in recent weeks as she made her NWSL debut and scored in just her second appearance for the Reign. She played a full 90 minutes last week and connected the second-most passes of any Reign player and was tied for the most duels won.
For Utah, Ally Sentnor has been consistently dangerous in the attack, ranking fifth in shots and shots on target across the league. She’s played in all 12 matches for the Royals and has one goal and one assist.
Defender Kate Del Fava has held down the backline for Utah, playing every minute of every match this season. She has notched one assist on the season and has won nine tackles.
