WHAT TO KNOW
LAST MEETING
This match marks the 33rd all-time meeting between the Reign and Gotham. Seattle holds a slight edge in the series, with 12 wins, 10 losses and 10 draws across all NWSL competitions.
In 2025, the two teams went head-to-head twice and drew on both occasions. Most recently, the match ended in a scoreless draw on the road last October, but prior to that meeting, the sides battled to a 1-1 draw at Lumen Field. Reign FC forward Emeri Adames notched a goal in the 71st minute to ultimately tie the game and secure a point for the Reign.
SCOUTING GOTHAM
Gotham FC are riding a four-match unbeaten run and enter Friday night’s fixture on the back of a 1-1 draw against Boston Legacy FC. Defensively strong this season, the squad has conceded just five goals across nine matches – the fewest of any team in the league.
Against Boston, Gotham also showed up offensively, outshooting their opponents 17-6 despite only netting one goal. Jaedyn Shaw opened the scoring in the 37th minute, but Boston’s Alba Caño’s leveled the score just three minutes later.
Prior to the draw against Boston, Gotham recorded three straight wins, scoring a total of six goals..
LAST MATCH AT LUMEN (FOR NOW)
This Friday’s match marks Reign FC’s final match at Lumen Field until July 12, as the NWSL is set to observe a month-long break from play in June. After a unique start to the season that saw that team play three home matches in Spokane, Washington, the Reign are aiming to earn their first home win at Lumen Field against Gotham FC.
Rising to the occasion, this match stands as the Reign's World Cup Night, giving fans one last opportunity to catch the Reign in action before Seattle gears up to host the 2026 Men’s FIFA World Cup. Don’t miss out on the exclusive gate giveaway and activations around the stadium. Learn more about what to expect in the club’s Know Before You Go Guide.
