2024 NWSL REGULAR SEASON RECORDS AND STANDINGS (W-L-D): Seattle Reign FC: 1-0-0, Chicago Red Stars: 1-0-0

Key Points Ahead of the Match:

1. LAST MEETING – The last time Reign FC and the Chicago Red Stars faced off was the last regular season game of 2023. In a dominant display, Reign FC defeated the Red Stars 3-0 to secure a playoff match at Lumen Field. Forward Megan Rapinoe added a brace, scoring both goals in a span of three minutes and fellow Reign original, midfielder Jess Fishlock, added a third goal to seal the deal.

2. SCOUTING CHICAGO – This is the 30th all-time meeting between the Reign and Red Stars – two of the founding clubs of the league. Across all competitions, the Red Stars are the Reign’s third most common opponent. The Reign are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Chicago (W2 D1), scoring 10 goals across those three matches.

3. WINNERS ONLY – This is the only meeting of the weekend that features two clubs that won their first match of the regular season. Seattle looks to start the season with back-to-back wins for the first time since 2018. As it stands, the Reign have started the season with back-to-back wins just twice – in 2018 and 2014. Chicago has never opened a regular season with consecutive wins.

4. BRACE YOURSELF – During the 2023 season, three Reign players recorded a brace against Chicago. In the first meeting of the season, forward Bethany Balcer and midfielder Jess Fishlock netted braces in the team’s 5-2 win. In the most recent meeting between the two sides, forward Megan Rapinoe added another brace.
