The 20-year-old defender earns her third career monthly Best XI selection after starting all four of Seattle’s matches in October and November; Bugg scored the 68th-minute game-winner against the Orlando Pride on Decision Day to clinch Reign FC’s spot in the 2026 NWSL Playoffs
Seattle Reign FC defender Jordyn Bugg has been named to the NWSL Best XI of the Month for October/November, presented by Amazon Prime, the National Women’s Soccer League announced today. The 20-year-old started all four of Seattle’s matches during the period, helping Reign FC earn seven points and secure the final spot in the 2026 NWSL Playoffs, presented by Google Pixel.
Bugg delivered the decisive moment on Decision Day, scoring the only goal of Seattle’s 1-0 win over the Orlando Pride on Sunday, November 1 at Lumen Field. The defender reacted first to a loose ball off a corner kick in the 68th minute, finishing for her second goal of the season and fifth of her NWSL career in front of 16,095 fans.
Bugg anchored a Reign FC backline that allowed just two goals across four matches, including consecutive clean sheets to end the regular season. She also started in Seattle’s 3-1 road victory over Chicago Stars FC on October 18, which moved the club into playoff position with two matches remaining. Against the North Carolina Courage on October 2, Bugg made her 50th NWSL regular season appearance, becoming the youngest defender in league history to reach the milestone at 20 years old.
The selection is the third monthly Best XI honor of Bugg’s career, following her selections in March and June 2025. The California native signed a multi-year contract extension on October 1 to remain with Seattle through the 2030 NWSL season.
Reign FC opens the postseason against NWSL Shield winners Gotham FC in the quarterfinals on Sunday, November 8 at Sports Illustrated Stadium (9:30 a.m. PT / ABC, ESPN Deportes).
