Seattle Reign FC Hosts Lauren Holiday Impact Award Appreciation Match on Sunday
This Sunday, September 28, Reign FC hosts its annual Lauren Holiday Impact Award, presented by Nationwide, Appreciation Match, honoring its 2025 nominee Cassie Miller and her chosen organization, Nick of Time Foundation, at the Reign’s match against the North Carolina Courage.
Established in 2024 to honor two-time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, Lauren Holiday, the award aims to spotlight NWSL players making meaningful differences in their communities – a value that has always been central to the Reign’s identity, and to Miller’s.
As soon as she stepped foot in Seattle, Miller was committed to finding organizations that aligned with the work she wanted to do in the community and Nick of Time was a natural fit to become her Lauren Holiday Impact Award partner. The Pacific Northwest nonprofit focused on improving youth heart health through screenings, emergency preparedness and life-saving education.
Through their partnership, Miller and Nick of Time have already collaborated on several events this year, including an opportunity for our Reign Academy players to learn more about heart health and stop by for a screening. Taking it one step further, they took action that same day to put on an event during a youth soccer tournament, where players and families could participate in CPR training.
On Sunday, Nick of Time will be present all around Lumen Field, with a group of dedicated fans in the stands, on-field roles and an educational table on the concourse, teaching fans more about heart health and emergency response.
Before kickoff, fans can visit Nick of Time’s table, located on the East Main Concourse, at the top of the North Plaza stairs, to learn more about Nick of Time as organization and the work they do to provide accessible heart screenings, CPR training and education to the community.
During the opening ceremonies, representatives from Nick of Time will lead the team procession onto the field and lead fans in the stadium in the Reign’s traditional “Scarves Up” moment just before kickoff. New this season, each nominee will wear a commemorative armband bearing the silhouette of Holiday for the appreciation match.
To cap off the festivities for the night, Cassie Miller and Nick of Time will be honored at halftime in a ceremony highlighting the work they’ve done together.
