Seattle Reign FC Re-Signs Forward Tziarra King

Seattle Reign FC has re-signed forward Tziarra King through the 2024 NWSL season, the club announced today. King was a restricted free agent who will be entering her fourth season with the Reign.

“This club and community have made me feel at home since the very beginning,” said King. “It’s such a fun and competitive environment here, so I’m proud to re-sign with the Reign for the 2024 season and can’t wait to join my teammates back on the field soon. Let’s get to work!”

Throughout her three seasons with Seattle, King has appeared in 44 matches, recording three goals, two assists and 45 shots. In Challenge Cup play, King has notched one goal and two assists in 14 appearances.

“Tziarra King returning to club is exciting news. Zee is still early in her career and we know with continued investment, she can be a player who consistently impacts games on both sides of the ball,” said Seattle Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore.

The 25-year-old made nine starts in 14 games played during the 2023 regular season, making an additional six starts during the UKG Challenge Cup. King finished the Challenge Cup with one assist and four shots, tied for the second most on the team, to help the club win the West Division and advance as the No. 1 overall seed.

King played an instrumental role in the Reign’s run to win The Women’s Cup in 2022, recording one goal in the semifinal and an assist in the final to earn Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Earlier that year, the versatile forward became the first player on the Reign to score in a regular season game at Lumen Field after it was named the club’s home, a match where she scored back-to-back goals within a span of four minutes to record the first brace of her career.

King entered the NWSL after being drafted by the Utah Royals with the 8th overall selection in the 2020 NWSL Draft.
