Lineup Notes:
Today’s starting XI is a new combination of players this season. Since the start of the 2026 campaign, Laura Harvey has listed 22 unique starting lineups across all 28 matches. Reign FC’s lineup features one change from its 1-0 loss against the North Carolina Courage on October 2: Holly Ward starts in place of Maddie Dahlien, who was moved to the season-ending injury list yesterday.
Seattle earned a 1-0 win over Chicago Stars FC in their first meeting this season on August 14 at Lumen Field. Seven players from Seattle’s starting XI that day are featured in tonight’s lineup, including Maddie Mercado, who scored the game-winning goal in the 53rd minute.
Claudia Dickey has seven shutouts this season, tied for her single-season career high set in 2025, and 20 across her NWSL regular season career.
Sofia Huerta has six goal contributions this season, bringing her career total to 76 regular season goal contributions (41 goals, 35 assists), which ranks 10th in NWSL history. Her next goal or assist would tie Megan Rapinoe and Sophia Wilson for the eighth-most NWSL goal contributions all-time.
Phoebe McClernon is the only Reign FC player to start all 28 matches this season, while Maddie Mercado is the only other player on the team set to make her 28th appearance of the year (25 starts).
With today's start, Sam Meza is set to make her 50th NWSL regular season appearance. The 24-year-old continues to lead the league in tackles and tackles won this season. The third-year midfielder currently has 100 tackles and 64 tackles won. She also led the league in 2025 with 106 tackles, while her 64 tackles won ranked second.
Holly Ward is making her fifth start of the season and first since August 19 at Racing Louisville FC.
