USWNT Wins Eighth SheBelieves Cup Title
On the final matchday of the 2026 SheBelieves Cup, the United States defeated Colombia 1-0 to claim the title and Canada took down Argentina in penalty kicks after drawing 0-0 in regulation.
Reign FC attacker Maddie Dahlien and goalkeeper Claudia Dickey, both of which appeared in the first match of the competition, were available on the bench as the U.S. took on Colombia but did not see minutes in the match.
Though the Unites States controlled the vast majority of possession in the first half of the match, Colombia created better attacking opportunities, taking eight shots compared to the USA’s three. Despite the five-shot advantage, the teams were tied 0-0 at the halftime whistle.
A flurry of subs beginning in the 60th minute of the match brought a renewed sense of energy to the United States and the scale began to tip in their favor. It wasn’t until the 82nd minute that the deadlock was broken by Alyssa Thompson. She passed the ball out to Jaedyn Shaw on the left side of the field before making a run to the top of the box. Shaw played the ball back to Thompson, who settled the ball before firing the ball into the top left corner of the goal, off the bottom of the crossbar and into the back of the net.
The win marks the first SheBelieves Cup title for Dahlien and Dickey and the eighth all-time for the United States Women’s National Team.
Up next, the USWNT plays a three-match series against Japan, including a fixture at Lumen Field on April 14. Lock in tickets to that much PLUS a Reign FC match with this special ticket pack.
Canada vs. Argentina
Canada defeated Argentina, 3-2, on penalty kicks after a scoreless draw in regulation, finishing the SheBelieves Cup with a total of five points. Forward Jordyn Huitema played the entire match up top for the Canadians.
Canada started the match on the front foot, repeatedly testing Argentina’s defense from the first whistle before the game settled down. Huitema had a solid chance on goal as the first half was coming to a close, using her left foot to send a powerful shot at Pereyra in goal. The keeper got just enough of her gloves on the ball to send the chance off the crossbar and out of danger.
Canada dominated the second half in terms of possession, mainly in Argentina’s half, but were unable to find a game-deciding goal. Regulation ended 0-0 and Canada won the ensuing penalty kick shootout 3-2.
