Welsh Players Unharmed in Team Bus Incident

On Tuesday morning, reports emerged out of St. Gallen, Switzerland that the Wales national team bus was involved in a collision en route to training ahead of their UEFA European Championship match against France on July 9.

Welsh manager Rhian Wilkinson told media that that players and staff are all “OK”.

The Football Association of Wales released a statement regarding the incident, saying that “all passengers on the Cymru National Team bus and in the other vehicle are unharmed.”

The club can confirm that all three Reign FC players on the Welsh national team – Jess Fishlock, Angharad James-Turner and Lily Woodham – are safe and in good hands. They have received ample support from local authorities, the FAW and UEFA since the incident.

"Thankfully everyone is safe,” said Reign FC Head Coach Laura Harvey. “We're incredibly grateful for the quick response by everyone involved. I spoke with our players earlier and was assured that although they are shaken up, the players and staff are in good spirits and surrounded by great support."

A report from the BBC states that the driver of the other car involved in the collision suffered minor injuries and is being treated a local hospital, while no passengers on the team bus suffered any injuries.

Representatives from NWSL have reached out to Reign FC to provide additional support and resources to the players, including when they return to the United States following the conclusion of the Euros.
