Witness Mia Fishel's first NWSL match against Angel City FC on Friday

As Seattle Reign FC prepares to return to NWSL play this Friday, August 1, they do so with a new face on the roster – forward Mia Fishel. Fishel’s signing turned heads as she selected Seattle to be her new home until 2029. At just 24 years old, she brings with her a wealth of experience at the highest levels of club and international soccer.

Fishel opted to begin her professional career in Mexico with Tigres UANL and hit the ground running, becoming the league’s top goal scorer during the Tigres run to the 2022 league title. Her next career move brought her to Chelsea FC, where the club won back-to-back Women’s Super League titles, its sixth FA Women’s Cup title (2024-25) and third FA Women’s League Cup title (2024-25).

Fans got a sneak preview of what the versatile attacker brings to the pitch in the Reign’s friendly matches against Urawa and Portland this month. She earned her first minutes in a Reign kit at Lumen Field against the Red Diamonds and played for the first half hour of the match in the 2-1 win.

FLASH SALE: To celebrate our new #19 Mia Fishel’s first NWSL match, we’re offering $19 tickets to Friday’s annual Pride Match presented by The Starbucks Coffee Company against Angel City FC (7:30 p.m PT).

Then, she made her first trip to play the Reign’s biggest rival, Portland Thorns FC, at Providence Park. She played for the entire first half in a match that would end 0-0 in regulation and go on to be decided by penalty kicks.

Fishel joins a Reign roster jam-packed with established icons and rising stars of the international game. Her addition to the squad provides Head Coach Laura Harvey with yet another world-class piece in the attack, providing a blend of elite skill and lethal finishing.

Don’t miss your chance to see Fishel make her debut as the Reign return to NWSL action this Friday. Matchday features a celebration of Pride and an exciting lineup of fun festivities for the entire family before Reign FC takes on Angel City FC at 7:30 p.m. PT.
