Pam Baughman Cornell

Pam Baughman Cornell was a prolific scorer and fierce competitor whose impact on the field was matched by her endurance and resilience off of it. A 1985 NCAA champion and tournament MVP with George Mason University, she also earned multiple All-America honors and was named ISAA Player of the Year.

Cornell joined the first U.S. Women’s National Team in 1985, helping lay the foundation for the program’s future success. Off the field, she is an adventurer, having hiked the Appalachian Trail three times and completed multiple marathons.

“We truly were playing because we absolutely loved to play. There wasn’t any big carrot we were chasing — no scholarships, no pro leagues,” she says.
