All eyes on Spokane: Reign FC prepares for Lilac City residency
After starting the 2026 season with two consecutive road matches, Reign FC has another quick turnaround, this time traveling over to the east side of Washington State to play three consecutive matches in Spokane.
The Lilac City most recently played host to Seattle Sounders FC in the Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 and the men in rave green gave the local fans a taste of what Seattle soccer has to offer. Lifted to victory by Washington native Paul Rothrock’s late goal, the Sounders defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 to advance to the quarterfinals via a 5-1 aggregate score line.
Now it’s the Reign’s turn to take over ONE Spokane Stadium and build off that electric energy. Looking to harness this unique opportunity to extend their reach to the east side of the state, Seattle’s own NWSL team takes on the Kansas City Current, Denver Summit FC and Racing Louisville FC in three consecutive matches at their new home away from home.
All three opponents pose a unique challenge, but the Reign’s deep roster is ready to take them on, backed by the city of Spokane – a community that is primed to host the biggest names in women’s soccer. With a long history of supporting the beautiful game, the east side of the state has cultivated a strong soccer culture, which will energize the Reign heading into this unique stretch of the season.
Highlighted by Spokane's two soccer teams – the Gainbridge Super League’s Spokane Zephyr FC and USL League One’s Spokane Velocity FC, soccer fans in Spokane know how to show up, which made the decision for Reign FC to play in Washington’s second-largest city that much easier.
“I think it will be great for aspiring young players and a new set of fans to be able to see the players on Reign compete against three other great NWSL clubs,”shared Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “We're excited at Seattle Reign FC to create new fans and showcase our club in a great soccer city like Spokane.”
This historic slate of matches marks the first time that the Reign will play on the east side of Washington, and the team will be looking to fans to help them make Spokane feel like home. While there’s a lot to look forward to off the pitch with Reign’s marquee matchday activations making the trip over the mountains, the team will be relying on the support of the fans to make ONE Spokane Stadium feel like a true home field.
