Five Reasons to Attend Reign FC’s Pride Match
Reign FC is set to host its annual Pride Match, presented by Trupanion, this Friday, August 14 at Lumen Field! The team takes on Chicago Stars FC in an important battle for three points, but this match is a community celebration that starts well before kickoff.
You won’t want to miss the chance to start your weekend off right with community activations, interactive fan experiences, limited-edition Pride merchandise and unforgettable matchday moments! Come early. Stay loud. Make a scene.
Here are five reasons you should attend the match:
TRUPANION KICKS OFF THE CELEBRATION
Seattle Reign FC’s front-of-kit partner Trupanion is kicking off the excitement for the Pride Match in 2026 with a gate giveaway! The first 4,000 fans at the match will receive a wearable Pride flag to showcase their support through the whole match and beyond.
Trupanion will also have an expanded presence on matchday in the North Plaza, in addition to their usual photobooth outside of Section 107. The dedicated space in North Plaza will feature an exciting lineup of activations, including:
Postcards on the Net - write a postcard to a pet, vet or friend, hang it on our soccer goal backdrop and we'll mail it with love after the match
Pet trading cards to learn more about featured adoptable pets from Seattle Humane and Home To Home
Local artists Alex Nason and Esmeralda Vasquez will be creating live murals to celebrate the Pride Match, LGBTQIA+ community, pets, Seattle, Seattle Reign and Trupanion.
The photobooth will have extra exciting elements to enhance the fun, including hair artists that are prepared to help fans be a little bit extra, with braids, rainbow hair and tinsel!
In the lead up to kickoff, be sure to pay close attention to the Toyota Fan Deck, where TUSH performers will be accompanied by some adoptable pets from Seattle Humane.
TUSH PREGAME PARTY
Join the Reign and TUSH in the North Plaza when gates open at 5:30 p.m. for an evening full of drag performances, live DJ sets, fun and community building before enjoying the match against Chicago Stars FC.
TUSH is set to bring the Pride Match to life with an unforgettable series of drag performances throughout the pregame festivities. Hosted by Betty Wetter, the lineup celebrates local queer talent and sets the stage for one of the biggest nights of the season.
DJ Dark Wiley will keep the North Plaza moving all evening with a high-energy soundtrack leading into the match. Arrive early to experience the full pregame atmosphere!
Fans are also invited to join Purple Lemonade for an interactive dance class before the match. Learn a few moves, celebrate Pride and help kick off the night with one of the most energetic fan experiences of the season.
MOMENTUM ON THE PITCH
Reign FC takes on Chicago Stars FC in the first meeting between the two teams this season. This match marks the first time the two teams have gone head-to-head since August 2025, when they drew 3-3 at Lumen Field. Chicago currently sits in 16th place in the NWSL standings with 13 points, while Reign FC is in ninth place with 24 points.
The Reign most recently drew 2-2 against Angel City FC, which marked the fifth straight match that the team has scored multiple goals, successfully unlocking their offensive threats. Since returning from the summer break, Seattle has scored 12 goals in six matches, compared to the three goals they scored across the six matches leading into the break.

A portion of proceeds from Reign FC's Pride collection with Rookie Made will go to support trans youth through Reign FC community partner, TransFamilies.
CELEBRATING COMMUNITY
First and foremost, Reign FC is celebrating our community during the Pride Match. Fans are invited to take part in the action in several ways on matchday. The Reign and RAVE Foundation's annual Pride Auction will run through matchday and feature autographed kits from many Reign FC players, in addition to other exclusive Pride merchandise.
In the RISE area, visit five of Reign FC's community partners that offer various resources and support to the LGBTQ+ community. Pick up a stamp card and visit all the featured partners to enter to win exclusive Reign FC prizes!
