Reign FC to Host Annual Pride Match, presented by Trupanion on Friday, August 14
On Friday, August 14, Seattle Reign FC hosts its biggest theme match of the entire year – our Pride Match, presented by Trupanion. This year, the marquee event will feature an exciting lineup of activations to celebrate the inclusivity and Pride that have been engrained in Reign FC’s DNA since the beginning.
To accommodate all the festivities planned for matchday, gates will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff on Friday. Thanks to our friends at Trupanion, the first 4,000 fans in the gates will receive a wearable Pride flag, making it easy to showcase your Pride loud and proud.
Expanding on their usual matchday footprint, Trupanion will be activating in the North Plaza, bringing local artists to work on a live mural, handing out adoptable pet trading cards and facilitating a special postcard activity.
Also in the North Plaza, join the TUSH Pregame Party beginning at 5:30 p.m. for an evening of drag performances, live DJs, community and celebration before heading to your seats to enjoy the match. The party will be headlined by an unforgettable series of drag performances by TUSH for the second year in a row. Hosted by Betty Wetter, the lineup celebrates local queer talent and sets the stage for one of the biggest nights of the season.
Adding to the atmosphere of the Plaza, DJ Dark Wiley will keep the vibes going with a high-energy soundtrack leading into the match. Fans are invited to join Purple Lemonade for an interactive dance class before the match. Learn a few moves, celebrate Pride and help kick off the night with one of the most energetic fan experiences of the season.
Keeping with club tradition, the Reign also released a robust retail collection to celebrate Pride in style. This collection consists of three different lines, bringing a unique and fashionable flair for every fan. Fans can purchase items online or shop limited-edition apparel and accessories throughout the stadium while supplies last. A portion of proceeds from the Rookie Made collection will go to support trans youth through Reign FC community partner, TransFamilies.
On the field, the whole Seattle Reign FC squad will don Pride numbers on the back of their jerseys to ring in the occasion. These limited-edition Pride numbers are available on kits purchased through Reign FC Shop online.
In the RISE area, visit five of Reign FC's community partners that offer various resources and support to the LGBTQ+ community. Pick up a stamp card and visit all the featured partners to enter to win exclusive Reign FC prizes!
Fans are also invited to take part in the Reign and RAVE Foundation's annual Pride Auction. The auction will feature autographed kits from many Reign FC players, in addition to other exclusive Pride merchandise.
