Five Reasons to Attend Seattle Reign FC vs. Boston Legacy FC on Friday
Reign FC is set to host Boston Legacy FC at Lumen Field this Friday, September 25 at 5:30 p.m. PT. Returning from a two-match away trip, the team will look to pick up where they left off at Lumen Field, earning every possible point to fight for a spot in the NWSL playoffs.
This Friday night match is one you won’t want to miss. Here are five reasons you should attend:
WELCOMING BOSTON TO SEATTLE
As Reign FC took on Denver Summit FC in Spokane earlier in the season, this match marks the only time in 2026 that Reign fans can see one of the expansion teams in action at Lumen Field! Seattle and Boston have gone head-to-head just once across all competitions, earlier this season in May. The Reign got the better of the newcomers, winning the match by a score of 2-1.
Neither team has qualified for the playoffs yet, but they are both still in contention battling to earn their spot, making this a must-watch match. Dating back to 2018, the Reign have lost just five of their 19 regular-season meetings with teams in their first NWSL season (W9 D5).
CALLING ALL DRAGON RIDERS
This match doubles as Reign FC’s Fourth Wing Night! In addition to a special ticket offer that gives fans the chance to snag a signed book, the matchday will feature some special Fourth Wing touches, from an exclusive merch collection to concession items.

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
The Reign have truly made Lumen Field a fortress since returning from the summer break, going unbeaten in all six home matches dating back to July. Fueled by strong showings from fans in each match, the Reign will be looking to continue their winning ways on home turf.
The dominance at Lumen appears on both sides of the ball. The team has conceded just two goals on their home field since July – both in the same match. All five other home matches were shutouts. The Reign also continues to find success in the attacking half of the field, adding at least one goal in their last 16 matches – a club record.
THREE HOME MATCHES LEFT
Time is running out to see Reign FC play a regular season home match at Lumen Field in 2026! There are just three regular season home matches left, beginning with this match against Boston. Each match will be critical as the Reign look to pick up as many points as possible before the final fixture of the regular season.
Both Reign FC and Boston are coming off 2-1 losses against Denver and Houston, respectively. The Reign currently sit in 9th place in the NWSL standings, just one point out of a playoff position. The Legacy are in 14th place – 12 points outside of a playoff position.
After the Boston match, the Reign hosts the North Carolina Courage for The Queen’s Match on October 2 and the Orlando Pride on Decision Day, November 1.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
Friday nights under Lumen Field’s lights are always special and this summer has proven that. As always, fans have a lot to look forward to pre-match at Lumen Field. The activations on the concourse include some Reign FC classics, like a photobooth, face painting, poster making, inflatable games and more!
Plus, on the pitch, fans should keep their eyes peeled for some familiar faces returning from the U-20 World Cup. Though the United States U-20 squad got eliminated in the Rounf of 16, Reign FC’s three participants, Emeri Adames, Ainsley McCammon and Evan O’Steen, have much to be proud of!
