Five Reasons to Attend Seattle Reign FC’s Youth Match on Sunday
Seattle Reign FC is back at Lumen Field this Sunday, September 14 at 5:00 p.m. PT, taking on Racing Louisville FC in the club’s second Youth Match of the season (TICKETS). The matchday is set to feature a host of fun, family-friendly activities, in addition to an intense head-to-head battle on the pitch. Here are five reasons you should attend the match:
1. Special opportunity for kids on Youth Day
To celebrate Reign FC’s Youth Match, there will be a special opportunity for children in attendance to create unforgettable memories at Lumen Field. Following the final whistle, kids will be invited onto the pitch to score a goal of their own.
To take part in this special experience, children ages 5-12 and their guardian will need to make their way to the Kids Club booth in the North Plaza to receive a stamp and wristband.
2. Seattle vs. Louisville
Seattle and Louisville are going head-to-head for the first time since May, when the Reign traveled down to Louisville and picked up three points on the road. The 1-0 victory featured a goal from rookie Maddie Dahlien in the 39th minute of the match. The goal was the second of her career and the second time her lone goal propelled the Reign to victory in the 2025 season. In addition to the goal, the Reign’s defense earned a shutout, holding strong through periodic flurries of Louisville attacks.
3. Family fun around the stadium
All around Lumen Field, fans and their families will have the opportunity to celebrate Youth Day. Starting at the gates with a Gatorade water bottle giveaway, there’s something fun for everyone!
In the North Plaza, a DJ will be bringing the upbeat vibes while fans enjoy performances from The Bubble Man and soccer freestylers. There will also be plenty of fun games, like Throw-in Tic Tac Toe, Soccer Target Practice and a giant inflatable obstacle course. Stop by The Corndoggery and Dippy's Ice Cream food trucks before continuing onto the main concourse to make your own Reign FC crown, design a poster, get facepaint and more!
4. Playoff Push Continues
The match is sure to be intense as the Reign continue to battle for their spot in the NWSL playoffs. It’s critical for the team to get back in the win column, as the standings are incredibly tight. Seattle and Louisville are back-to-back in the standings, in seventh and eighth place respectively. Seattle has one more point than Louisville and emphasizing the urgency to pick up a win, are just three points out of third place. With just seven games left, every point matters.
