Four Reign FC Players Shine for United States Women’s National Team

The United States Women’s National Team played a series of friendly matches against the Republic of Ireland, earning two back-to-back 4-0 wins. After stringing together a series of impressive performances in the first half of the 2025 NWSL season, all four Reign FC players saw the pitch, marking many milestone moments.

Lynn Biyendolo

Forward Lynn Biyendolo, a United States Women’s National Team veteran, has been called upon to lead the squad this international window. She is the oldest player on the June/July camp roster and has 82 career caps.

She reached two milestones in the USWNT’s most recent match against the Republic of Ireland – she was captain of the team for the first time and reached her 25th international goal.

The USWNT patiently passed the ball around the field to create the scoring opportunity, with Sam Meza, Emma Sears and Biyendolo leading the charge. The quick series of passes opened up space out wide for Sears to run and chip a cross into the box. Biyendolo was poised in front of the goal, making no mistake as she volleyed the ball into the left side of the net.

Jordyn Bugg

Jordyn Bugg, the youngest player on the USWNT roster, made her first appearance for the United States on June 26. The 4-0 win saw Bugg come onto the field in the 73rd minute, replacing Naomi Girma and becoming the 280th player in USWNT history to earn a cap. She is the youngest USWNT debutante since Olivia Moultrie debuted at 18 years and 76 days in 2023.

The 18-year-old earned her first start in the very next match and played a full 90 minutes alongside fellow defenders Emily Sams, Tara McKeown and Izzy Rodriguez.

Claudia Dickey

Goalkeeper Claudia Dickey made her first appearance for the United States on June 26. She became the 29th goalkeeper in USWNT history to earn a cap. A long time in the making, Dickey had previously joined the senior national team this year but had not yet made an appearance prior to this international window.

She didn’t have a lot of work to do as the United States captured the shutout, as Ireland managed just two shots, both of which were off target. She was tested in the 61st minute the match, as Ireland’s Kyra Carusa fired a close-range shot that required a quality stop from Dickey, but in the end, the play ended up being called offside and the save would not appear on the stats sheet.

Sam Meza

Midfielder Sam Meza also made her United States debut, starting the match on June 29. She became the first player to play in the USL Super League and earn a USWNT cap. She showed her quality in the midfield, using her strength and tenacity to control possession of the ball for the United States, in addition to connecting quick passes. She played for 87 minutes before giving way to Rose Lavelle.

She debuted alongside Izzy Rodriguez as the two became the 281st and 282nd players to earn a cap for the USWNT and the 23rd and 24th players to debut under head coach Emma Hayes. They are also the 12th and 13th players of Hispanic descent to play for the USWNT.

Next up, Biyendolo, Bugg, Dickey, Meza and the United States take on Jordyn Huitema and Canada today, Wednesday, July 2 at 4:30 p.m. PT. Tune in to the match on TNT, truTV & Max and Universo & Peacock in Spanish and on the radio via Westwood One Sports.
