Goalkeeper Evan O’Steen Called Up to United States U-19 Squad

Seattle Reign FC goalkeeper Evan O’Steen has received her first international call-up since signing with the club in January. The club’s youngest-ever goalkeeper has had a strong preseason showing with the Reign and is one of two goalkeepers called into the Portugal-based international camp.

The U-19 squad is set to play three international friendlies during the international window, against Wales, Czechia and Portugal. These are the first international matches of 2026 for this group of players, 15 of which were born in 2007 and five who were born in 2008. O’Steen is one of two NWSL players called into camp, alongside Chicago Stars forward Micayla Johnson.

O’Steen is no stranger to representing the United States on the international stage, as she most recently competed in the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. She appeared in two group stage matches for the squad, in addition to the Round of 16, notching a shutout in the squad’s opening match of the tournament. In 2024, the Grapevine, Texas native earned Golden Glove honors at the 2024 U-17 World Cup, as she recorded four total shutouts in five matches en route to United States’s third place finish.

One of the most promising young goalkeepers in the country, she was one of 10 goalkeepers across the nation selected for U.S. Soccer’s inaugural Women’s College Talent ID Camp in June 2025 and was the only non-college player in camp.

Her standout composure has been built over time as she navigated competing at the top levels through youth soccer and the youth national team system. She is a 2025 National Champion out of Florida States University, where she worked to earn four appearances as a freshman.

As the 2026 NWSL season approaches, preseason training and international call-ups alike are pushing Reign’s talented group forward. O’Steen has proven that her skill on the pitch translates to maturity beyond her years and she will continue to carry that momentum forward as she gains experience for club and country.
