Key Info Ahead of the Match:
1. LAST MEETING – Seattle and Louisville last met on May 17th at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. After inclement weather postponed the match by one day, the Reign earned three points on the road, lifted to victory by a goal from rookie Maddie Dahlien in the 39th minute of the match. The goal was scored against the run of play when midfielder Sam Meza won possession of the ball and quickly kickstarted a counterattack. She slipped a perfectly weighted pass through Louisville's backline to Dahlien, who dribbled into the box just far enough to draw goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer off her line before slotting the ball to the back post to give Reign FC the lead.
In all NWSL competitions, the Reign have three wins, one loss and six draws against Louisville, with 15 goals scored compared to Racing’s 12.
2. SCOUTING LOUISVILLE – Louisville currently sits in the eighth place in the NWSL standings, with 26 points from 19 matches. The team has earned seven wins, seven losses and five draws.
Most recently, Racing fell 2-1 to Portland Thorns FC in a home match. Despite dominating the game all over the field, Louisville failed to dominate the scoresheet, conceding one goal each half. Katie O’Kane scored for Louisville in the 21st minute, giving the hosts the lead with her first career goal, but it was short lived as the Thorns were able to equalize before halftime. In the second half, Portland was awarded a penalty kick, but Louisville’s hopes were kept alive as Bloomer made a great save to keep the score level. However, in the dying minutes of the match, a shot from Portland deflected off a Louisville player and into the back of the net, winning the match for the Portland.
3. HOME CROWD – The Reign are returning home to Lumen Field after playing in Washington, D.C. over the weekend. Fueled by the energy of the home crowd, the Reign have earned a result in each of their last three home matches (1 win, 2 draws) and scored five goals across those three home matches. In addition, the team has kept two clean sheets in those three matches.
Making the evening extra exciting, the Reign celebrates its Youth Match. Family-friendly activations will be set up around the stadium, creating an interactive experience for fans of all ages. In addition, children ages 5-12 will be invited onto the pitch post-match and given the opportunity to score a goal on the Reign’s home turf.
4. PLAYERS TO WATCH – Reign FC midfielder Sam Meza had a standout match against Washington last weekend, anchoring the center of the field with eight tackles, 14 recoveries and three clearances. She ranks in the top five in the NWSL in tackles won, possessions won and duels won in 2025. She is one of two players this season to rank in the top five in the league in all three categories. Up top, forward Emeri Adames continues to shine as the Reign’s top scorer. She is just one goal away from setting a new goalscoring record for teenagers. She most recently scored when the Reign took on Chicago at home and is no stranger to putting on a show for the fans at Lumen Field.
Emma Sears leads goalscoring for Racing, with seven goals on the season. She has appeared in every match for the team, most recently posting a 90-minute performance against the Thorns. On the other end of the field, goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer had a standout match last weekend, stopping a penalty kick, in addition to weathering eight shots on target from Portland.
