Key Info Ahead of the Match:

1. LAST MEETING – Seattle and San Diego last met at Snapdragon Stadium on June 6. The intense back and forth battle ended 2-1 in favor of the Reign. Midfielder Sally Menti opened the scoring in the 67th minute of the match, but San Diego found an equalizer less than 10 minutes later. The game-winning goal was scored by forward Emeri Adames, who is now Reign FC's leading goal scorer.

In all NWSL competitions, the Reign have nine wins, one loss and two draws against San Diego, with 18 goals compared to San Diego’s seven.

2. SCOUTING SAN DIEGO – The Wave currently sit in third place in the NWSL standings, with 29 points from 17 games. They have eight wins, four losses and five draws in 2025.

The Wave have had a strong summer, losing just one time since June 6. That one loss came in their most recent match, playing against Racing Louisville FC at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego. The teams battled to a scoreless draw in the first half, though the Wave dominated possession in the match and took nearly double the number of shots of Racing Louisville, Emma Sears was able to score a game-winning goal for Louisville in the 59th minute of the match.

The Wave are on a strong road run, earning 16 points in their last six away matches, with five wins, zero losses and one draw.

3. CAN'T MISS ACTION – Reign FC remains steady, occupying the sixth-place spot in the NWSL standings. As the season progresses, the team is looking to climb higher in the tightly contested table. Dating back to June, Seattle has only lost one of six matches, fielding a unique lineup in each match. The performances have been headlined by a surge in goalscoring. Recording 16 goals in seven matches, the most of any team in the league in that span, five players on the roster contributed to at least three goals, led by Emeri Adames and Jess Fishlock (5 each).

4. PLAYERS TO WATCH – Reign FC’s offense has been leading the charge, with forward Jordyn Huitema once again scoring for the Reign. The Canadian-international is on roll, scoring in the Reign’s last two matches from her place up top. Defender Sofia Huerta, who assisted Huitema’s goal, has also been stellar since she returned from loan this summer. Her assist last weekend broke the NWSL assist record and marked her 15th assist on a header goal in her NWSL career, and her ninth with the Reign.

For San Diego, forward Delphine Cascarino scored San Diego’s lone goal against the Reign in June and now leads the Wave in goal contributions this year. She has tallied five assists, and three goals and appeared in every match of the season for the Wave. In San Diego’s last match, midfielder Kenza Dali was a standout player, attempting five shots and creating five chances.
