Key Info Ahead of the Match:

1. LAST MEETING – Seattle and Houston last met at Lumen Field on May 11. The first half of the match went scoreless, setting the stage for a tense second half. The teams were level until the 57th minute, when forward Ryan Gareis threaded a cross through the Reign’s 18-yard box and midfielder Maggie Graham touched it home.

The Reign attempted to claw their way back from the one goal deficit, energized by key players like Emeri Adames, who came onto the field as a substitution and nailed the crossbar with a solid shot, but ultimately the team was unable to find the goal they needed to split the points in the match.

In all NWSL competitions, the Reign have 18 wins, 6 losses and 4 draws against Houston, with 49 goals compared to Houston’s 21.

2. SCOUTING HOUSTON DASH – Houston currently sits in 10th place in the NWSL standings, with 18 points from 16 games. They have five wins, eight losses and three draws on the season.

Most recently, the Dash picked up their fifth win of the season on the road against eighth-place NJ/NY Gotham FC. Gotham scored first, just eight minutes into the match. Houston played the rest of the first half down a goal, but equalized shortly after halftime, as Gotham conceded an own goal. The match was determined by forward Michelle Alozie’s goal in the 93rd minute of the match. The forward received a ball from Sarah Puntigam and took one touch before slotting it into the back of the net.

Houston is now undefeated in three straight matches and has recorded two consecutive wins. Notably, the team has come from behind to avoid defeat in each of its last three matches and recorded stoppage time game-winning goals in two back-to-back matches.

3. ROAD WARRIORS – Reign FC once again enters the week in sixth place, just four points below the second-place spot. Everyone knows that every match is a must-win match in order to move up the standings. After playing three consecutive matches on the west coast, the Reign head down to Houston for the first time this season.

The team has been undeniably impressive on the road in 2025, earning points in six of eight road matches, including four wins and two draws. They have recorded 15 of the total 24 goals scored this season as the visiting team. All-time, the Reign have eight road wins against Houston.

4. PLAYERS TO WATCH – Reign FC forward Emeri Adames continues to post standout performances week after week. She scored yet another in the Reign’s match against Chicago on Monday, bringing her tally to five goals in her last six matches. She leads the team in goals scored and has tied the NWSL single season record for the most goals by a teenager. Forward Jordyn Huitema also recorded a goal against Chicago – her second of the season. She had a stellar week for the Reign, earning the assist on the opening goal of the match, in addition to adding an acrobatic goal of her own. She was named NWSL Player of the Week for her strong performance.

In Houston, midfielder Kiki Van Zanten has returned from the summer break strong. Though she may not have been credited on the scoresheet, she hustled to apply pressure to Gotham in Houston’s most recent match, forcing an own goal. She also recorded goals in two back-to-back games immediately following the summer break. Similarly, midfielder Maggie Graham has been a stalwart for the Dash, appearing in all 16 matches so far this season. She is tied for the most goals scored of any Houston player this season, with three, in addition to adding two assists.
