The NWSL has recognized Reign FC forward Jordyn Huitema as its Player of the Week, presented by AT&T, for her performance in Week 16 against Chicago Stars FC on August 18

Seattle Reign FC forward Jordyn Huitema has been named NWSL Player of the Week, presented by AT&T, following her standout performance against Chicago Stars FC on Monday night at Lumen Field.

Huitema set the tone early, delivering a crisp assist on Jess Fishlock’s third-minute opener before doubling Seattle’s lead in the 34th minute with a highlight-reel bicycle kick from the center of the box. It was the second time in her NWSL career that she has recorded both a goal and an assist in the same match, the first coming in 2022 against the Orlando Pride.

Through 13 appearances this season, the Canadian international has recorded two goals and one assist. She also became the fourth Reign player this year to post both a goal and an assist in a single game.

This is Huitema’s first career Player of the Week honor. She is the first Reign FC player to claim the award this season and the 18th in club history. Huitema was nominated alongside Kenza Dali (San Diego Wave FC), Kaleigh Kurtz (North Carolina Courage), and Savannah DeMelo (Racing Louisville FC).
