1. LAST MEETING – The Reign and Dash last met in October 2024 in Seattle. The Reign defeated Houston 2-1, scoring first but allowing the visitors to level the score before retaking the lead.

In the first half of the match, midfielder Olivia Athens got the scoring started for the Reign in the 22nd minute, when a corner kick popped out to the 26-year-old, whose powerful shot flew into the back of the net. Just three minutes later, Houston levelled the score from the penalty spot. After halftime, the Reign’s game-winning goal was scored by forward Nérilia Mondesir – her first in NWSL play.

2. SCOUTING HOUSTON DASH – The 12th-place Houston Dash mare fresh off a two-match homestand, earning one win and one loss. Most recently, the team battled a weather delay before falling 2-1 to Racing Louisville FC.

Houston took the lead early when forward Ryan Gareis crossed the ball to defender Avery Patterson in the ninth minute of the match. Patterson dribbled into the box and took a shot to the far post to beat the goalkeeper. Louisville found the equalizer in the 20th minute when midfielder Kayla Fischer had space to dribble toward the top of the box and fire a shot into the back of the net. Forward Emma Sears added another for Louisville then took the lead in the 71st minute when she dribbled toward the top of the box and found the inside of the far post. Louisville took the lead in the 71st minute to determine the game.

3. CONTINUING THE STREAK – The Reign are on a three-game unbeaten run for the first time this season and will look to maintain that momentum into the match against Houston. Two of the three matches were played at Lumen Field and both fixtures resulted in the Reign earning three points while keeping a clean sheet.

Aiding the team’s success, several Reign players rank top of the league in their respective areas of play – Goalkeeper Claudia Dickey ranks third in saves (22), defender Phoebe McClernon ranks first in tackle success rate (92%), midfielder Sam Meza leads the league in tackles (31) and forward Maddie Dahlien has taken the third-most shots on target (12) of any player in the league.

4. WELL ROUNDED– The Reign have proven to be a deep team all over the field this season, from the goal to the front line. Notably, the Reign have conceded just one goal in the last three games the team has played. In addition, the team has only conceded one goal at Lumen Field across the 2025 season.

The Reign’s offense continues to develop, keeping opponents on their toes. Through seven games played, Reign FC has seven different goal scorers tied for the second-most in the league. Most recently, forward Lynn Biyendolo recorded her highly anticipated first goal for the Reign, joining fellow attackers Dahlien and Jordyn Huitema in scoring game-defining goals during the Reign’s unbeaten run.
