Key Info Ahead of the Match:

1. LAST MEETING – The Reign and Racing Louisville last met in August 2024 at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky. In a match featuring a weather delay and five goals, the Reign defeated Racing Louisville 3-2.

The home side scored first, just six minutes into the match, when midfielder Ary Borges broke free in the box on a corner kick. The Reign were only down a goal for nine minutes before netting an equalizer. Midfielder Jess Fishlock drew a penalty kick and defender Sofia Huerta confidently converted. As the half was nearing its end, Louisville regained the lead on another corner kick, this time finished by midfielder Taylor Flint.

The second half featured two Reign goals, the first coming on a stunning free kick from midfielder Ji, just outside the box. The game winning goal was scored in 81st minute, when Ji got on the end of a corner kick and directed the ball toward goal, the final touch off a Louisville player sending it into the back of the net to secure the win for the Reign.

All time, the Reign lead the head-to-head series with two wins, one loss and six draws, and have outscored Racing Louisville 14 to 12.

2. SCOUTING RACING LOUISVILLE FC – Racing Louisville FC and Reign FC are back-to-back in the NWSL standings, level on points. The team has earned two consecutive wins, against the Houston Dash and most recently NJ/NY Gotham FC. The match was scoreless until the 56th minute, when Flint found the game winner. After receiving the ball from defender Savannah DeMelo outside the box, Flint took the space in front of her, earning the win for Louisville.

3. ON LEVEL GROUND – Seattle Reign and Racing Louisville have played to a draw in six of the eight all-time NWSL meetings. The 75-percent draw rate is the highest of any matchup in league history. The Reign have defeated Racing in the other two league matchups between the two teams, while Louisville earned a victory outside of the regular season in a 2023 Challenge Cup game.

In the NWSL standings, the teams are currently back-to-back, with the same number of points earned and the same record, separated only by goal difference. Reign FC has a goal difference of zero, while Louisville sits at negative four.

4. PLAYERS TO WATCH – In this match up, there are several players to watch, on both sides of the field. For the Reign, goalkeeper Claudia Dickey continues to impress, ranking in the NWSL top five in both saves and goals against average. In addition, defenders Jordyn Bugg and Phoebe McClernon remain stalwarts in the Reign’s backline, starting every match of the season and making a combined eight clearances to hold Houston to just three total shots in the match last weekend. Up top, young forward Emeri Adames and Maddie Dahlien continue to bring a plethora of energy to the Reign’s attack. Both are looking for their second goal of the season.

Last week against Gotham FC, Louisville found success implementing a strong press, particularly in the center of the field. Offensive standouts for Racing include Flint, who scored the game winner against Gotham, as well as forward Emma Sears, who has four goals on the season. Defensively, goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer played a critical role in securing the shutout last week, as she made five saves.
