Cassie Miller Named Seattle Reign FC Nominee for 2025 Lauren Holiday Impact Award, Presented by Nationwide
Reign FC’s Cassie Miller and local nonprofit Nick of Time Foundation join forces to champion youth health, safety and education
Seattle Reign FC is proud to announce goalkeeper Cassie Miller as the club’s nominee for the 2025 Lauren Holiday Impact Award, presented by Nationwide. The annual league-wide honor celebrates an NWSL player who exemplifies exceptional character and service off the pitch. This year, Miller is being recognized for her impactful partnership with the Nick of Time Foundation, a Pacific Northwest nonprofit focused on improving youth heart health through screenings, emergency preparedness and life-saving education.
The Nick of Time Foundation’s mission – to provide accessible heart screenings and emergency response training for young people – aligns closely with Miller’s passion for health equity and community advocacy. Founded nearly 20 years ago, the organization has screened more than 32,000 youth, identified 648 individuals with potentially life-threatening heart conditions and trained thousands in hands-only CPR and AED use.
“The Nick of Time Foundation’s work saves lives, and it’s an honor to support their mission,” said Miller. “I’ve seen firsthand how their free screenings, education, and advocacy empower families and communities to act when it matters most. That’s why I’m proud to partner with Seattle Reign FC and the NWSL to raise awareness and amplify the foundation’s impact.”
Through a unique blend of education and action, the foundation transforms school gymnasiums into makeshift cardiac screening centers powered by volunteer medical professionals. The free evaluations go far beyond typical sports physicals and have become a vital resource for Puget Sound-area students and young adults.
“Cassie embodies the values of this award through her deep commitment to the community,” said Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “Her advocacy with the Nick of Time Foundation reflects her leadership, compassion, and drive to make a meaningful impact.”
The Lauren Holiday Impact Award was established in 2024 to honor two-time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion Lauren Holiday, spotlighting NWSL players making meaningful differences in their communities. The 2025 award winner will be announced during NWSL Championship weekend, with Nationwide donating $50,000 to the charitable organization of the recipient’s choice.
The winner will be determined by a panel of judges that will include Holiday, NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman, and representatives from Nationwide, NWSLPA, and Media Association.
“Sports has the power to unite communities, and the NWSL is proud to be the home of athletes whose dedication to giving back exemplifies how professional sports can bring people together around shared causes,” said NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman. “This year’s Lauren Holiday Impact Award Nominees represent the best that our league has to offer when it comes to on-field talent and off-field activism.”
