Seattle Reign FC and Goalkeeper Cassie Miller Exercise Mutual 2026 Option
Reign FC’s nominee for the Lauren Holiday Impact Award, presented by Nationwide, will remain with the club through 2026
Seattle Reign FC today announced that the club and goalkeeper Cassie Miller have exercised the mutual option on her contract, extending her stay through the 2026 NWSL season. Miller was acquired in a trade with NJ/NY Gotham FC ahead of the 2025 campaign.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Cassie back for another season,” said Seattle Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “Cassie made an immediate impact at our club, both on and off the pitch. Despite the setback of an injury that’s placed her on the 45-Day injury list, her presence has been undeniable – her competitiveness, positive disposition and unwavering dedication to being an elite professional have lifted our locker room. Her commitment to community engagement has also not gone unnoticed, earning her the honor of being our Lauren Holiday Community Impact Award nominee. Cassie embodies the spirit of our club, and we’re proud to continue this journey with her.”
Miller joined Reign FC in December 2024 but has yet to make her club debut. After sustaining an injury during training, Miller was placed on the 45-day injury list on June 3. A six-year NWSL veteran, Miller has started all 31 matches in which she’s appeared, recording 11 clean sheets and 81 saves across three NWSL clubs. In her second year with Chicago Stars FC in 2021, she helped lead the team to the NWSL Championship, posting back-to-back shutouts in the NWSL playoffs.
Off the pitch, Miller has already made an impact in the Pacific Northwest. The Arizona native was recently named Reign FC’s nominee for the 2025 Lauren Holiday Impact Award, presented by Nationwide, which honors players who are making meaningful contributions in their communities. Miller was recognized for her work with the Nick of Time Foundation, a Seattle-area nonprofit dedicated to improving youth heart health through screenings, emergency preparedness and life-saving education.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue building something meaningful with the Reign,” said Miller. “This is a club with strong values and an incredible community, and I’m excited to keep growing relationships both on and off the field. Making an impact here in the Pacific Northwest means the world to me. Let’s go Reign!”
Miller played collegiately at Florida State University, where she set a program record with 48 career shutouts and helped the Seminoles capture their first-ever College Cup in 2014.
