Six Seattle Reign FC Players Called Up for April International Window

Seattle Reign FC has six players joining their national teams for the upcoming international window. Jordyn Huitema will be representing Canada, Jess Fishlock, Angharad James-Turner and Lily Woodham will join Wales and Ji So-Yun will play for Korea Republic. In addition, Reign forward Emeri Adames will join the U.S. Under-20 Women’s Youth National Team. A full schedule of Seattle Reign FC international games can be found below.

The Canadian National Team will be participating in the SheBelieves Cup. This international window features four SheBelieves matches in total, two of which will feature Canada. First, Canada will face Brazil in the semifinals on Saturday, April 6 in Atlanta and will advance to the championship match with a win or the third-place match with a loss on Tuesday, April 9 in Columbus, Ohio. Reign midfielder Quinn was initially on the roster for this international window but will not be with Canada due to injury.

The Welsh National Team is set to play two UEFA Women’s European 2025 qualifying matches over the international break. Fans can learn more about the qualification format here. Cymru will first play a home match against Croatia on Friday, April 5 before traveling to Kosovo for a second match on Tuesday, April 9. These matches will mark the squad’s first competitions under newly named Head Coach Rhian Wilkinson. Notably, Reign midfielder Jess Fishlock has an opportunity to became Cymru’s first-ever player to reach 150 caps, should she make an appearance in both matches.

Korea Republic will play two friendly matches on April 5 and 8 in Incheon, South Korea, both against the Philippines. Korea Republic, ranked No. 20 in the FIFA rankings, has played against the Philippines, ranked No. 39, four times previously and won every match. Most recently, the two sides met during the group stage of last year's Hangzhou Asian Games, where Korea won 5-1.

The U.S. Under-20 Women’s Youth National Team will travel to Germany, where they will play two friendly matches as the team continues to prepare for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, to be held in Colombia in September. The first match will be played against Germany on Friday, April 5 at Sportclub Arena Verl and the second will be played against Canada on April 7 at Stadion Am Furlbach.
