Forward Jordyn Huitema Called Up to Canadian National Team

Reign FC forward Jordyn Huitema has been called up to the Canadian Women’s National Team for the June-July international window. Led by Head Coach Casey Stoney, Canada will play one match in Toronto against Costa Rica and one match in Washington, D.C. against the United States.

"We’re thrilled to see Jordyn back with Canada. She’s worked hard to recover, stay sharp, and contribute here at the club — and now she’s ready to bring that form back to the international stage. We’re excited for what’s ahead for her,” said Seattle Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore.

Huitema, a mainstay in Canada’s attack, has appeared in three matches for the national team this year, recording two goals and an assist in her 216 minutes on the field. Since making her debut for the senior national team in 2017, she has amassed 89 caps, 39 starts, 23 goals and seven assists.

The match against Costa Rica on Friday, June 27 marks the first meeting between the two sides since the spring of 2024, where the nations went head-to-head in the Concacaf W Gold Cup. Canada narrowly claimed victory with a goal scored in the 104th minute of play. This friendly match doubles as Canada Soccer’s annual Pride Celebration.

Immediately following the Costa Rica fixture, the CANWNT will travel south to Audi Field in Washington, D.C., to face the U.S. Women’s National Team in the Allstate Continental Clásico. This is the first time the two teams are meeting with Stoney at the helm.
