Neeku Purcell called up to U.S. U-23 Camp in Spain

As announced today by U.S. Soccer, goalkeeper Neeku Purcell has been called into U-23 training camp as part of Heather Dyche’s 24-player roster. The squad is set to travel to Spain for three matches in a competition dubbed WU23 Friendly Finals.

The United States will face off against the Netherlands U-23 WNT on April 10 and then take on the Denmark U-23 WNT on April 13. If the USA wins that game, it will play the winner of a France-Scotland U-23 match. If the USA loses to Denmark, it will play the loser of France-Denmark.

The U-23 roster features 20 professional players and four collegiate players. Purcell, a Seattle Reign Academy product, is one of 13 players on the roster that attended the first U-23 WNT camp of the year in Miami in February at which the USA split games with Mexico. She was also one of two goalkeepers called into the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team training camp in Europe last November, alongside Reign FC teammates Emeri Adames and Maddie Dahlien.

This camp and competition continue the emphasis of U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Emma Hayes on this age group as a vitally important part of the continued growth and depth of the senior team. In 2025, 14 players who saw minutes with the U-23 side earned their full USWNT call-up.

Though Purcell has yet to make her Reign FC debut, she brings a wealth of experience to the field. Before signing with the Reign, she made her professional debut with Brooklyn FC in the Gainbridge Super League. Now, she is a core part of Reign FC’s goalkeeping group, seamlessly integrating into the the first team environment and fueling the team’s growth.
