Five Reasons to Attend the Queen’s Match on Friday
Reign FC is set to host the North Carolina Courage this Friday, October 2 for the club’s annual Queen’s Match. This year, the club will honor Reign icon Jess Fishlock, highlighting her impact on Seattle and the growth of the women’s game.
The match kicks off from Lumen Field at 7:00 p.m. PT. Don’t miss out on your chance to celebrate Jess Fishlock as part of the festivities. Need more convincing? Here are five reasons you should attend:
THE QUEEN’S MATCH
In 2025, Seattle Reign FC established a new club tradition – The Queen’s Match. This marquee celebration of soccer history honors the rich legacy of this city and spotlights the women that left an indelible mark on the game. At the 2026 match, the club will honor the unparalleled legacy of Jess Fishlock.
This match will celebrate the lasting impact she has had on the club ahead of her final regular season home match at Lumen Field on Sunday, November 1 against the Orlando Pride. Fans will have the chance to share more about the impact Fishlock has made on them through an interactive fan experience on the concourse. The first 6,000 fans in attendance will get an exclusive Jess Fishlock collectible pin, presented by Starbucks when entering the gates of Lumen Field. Five fans will receive a golden pin and will have an opportunity to go on the pitch post-match to meet Fishlock.
LUMEN FIELD DOMINANCE
Last Friday, the Reign continued to show that Lumen Field remains one of the toughest places in the NWSL for opposing teams to play. With the 2-0 win, the Reign became the first team in NWSL history to record five straight home shutout wins in the regular season. They picked up the clean sheet against a Boston side that had scored in 13 consecutive matches, and was last held scoreless back on May 13.
The club extended their home unbeaten streak to seven matches – every single match they’ve played in Seattle since returning from the summer break in July. The team also furthered their goalscoring streak to 17 matches.
PENULTIMATE REGULAR SEASON MATCH AT LUMEN FIELD
The Reign have just two regular season matches left at Lumen Field, including this Friday’s match against the Courage. Fans can attend this match by securing a single match ticket or a Jess Fishlock Bobble Bundle that includes an exclusive bobblehead of Jess Fishlock herself. The final home match of the season is set to be played on November 1 in an exciting Decision Day matchup against the Orlando Pride.
North Carolina enters the match in ninth place in the NWSL standings – just one place below the Reign. They most recently fell 2-1 to the Utah Royals, marking the third consecutive 2-1 loss for the squad. The Reign and Courage are separated by just one point in the standings, emphasizing the critical nature of the fixture.
BACK UNDER THE FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
The team proved last Friday that Lumen Field is the place to be. This matchup, at 7:00 p.m. PT, features an exciting lineup of off-the-field activities for fans of all ages to enjoy around the stadium before watching the action-packed meeting on the pitch.
There will be activations focused on honoring Jess Fishlock as part of the Queen’s Match festivities, in addition to the various activations that Reign fans know and love like a photo op, poster making, games and more!
