Seattle Reign FC returns to Lumen Field on Monday, August 18 to take on Chicago Stars FC in the club’s first annual Queen’s Match (Single Match Tickets | 80’s Bucket Hat Promo). The evening is set to honor the 1985 United States Women’s National Team and their gritty legacy that served as the platform the women’s game as we know it. Learn more about what to expect on matchday and why you should attend:

1. Must-Win on the Pitch

We’re officially in the back half of the NWSL season, meaning that every match is a must-win situation for the Reign – and every other NWSL team. The parity in the league is like no other and the standings reflect that. The Reign currently sit in sixth place in the jam-packed table, clear of the playoff line, but are just three points out of second place. Every point matters as the Reign move through the second half of the season. The squad has gone undefeated in four of its last five league matches, posting at least two goals in each match.

2. Celebrate the Legacy of the 1985 United States Women’s National Team

Reign FC begins a new tradition on Monday, honoring the trailblazing women that built the backbone of the beautiful game in America. For the inaugural Queen’s Match, the club welcomes the 1985 United States Women’s National Team to Lumen Field. The trailblazing group of 17 women forged their own path, uplifting the women’s game in the United States. The team traveled to Italy to play the squad’s first-ever international competition, irrevocably laying the groundwork the United States Women’s National Team to become the dominant force they are today. Reign FC welcomes the 85ers home, as eight members of the team have proud Washington State roots.

3. Activations around Lumen Field

In addition to a must-win match, fans can enjoy a full slate of fun activities around Lumen Field! Starting immediately as you enter the stadium, fans can enjoy an exclusive gate giveaway of 1,985 exclusive bracelets to celebrate the legacy the of the 1985 national team. Continuing into the stadium, there will be an 80’s-inspired lineup of music, exclusive Queen’s Match merchandise, in addition to the traditional crown making station, facepainting, inflatable soccer games and more! At halftime, the 1985 United States Women’s National Team will be honored for their contributions to the game and unshakeable legacy they have bestowed upon the women’s game.

4. Goals Galore

Since June, the Reign have scored two or more goals in every single league match – something the team did just once from March to May.  In fact, Seattle has scored multiple goals in five consecutive regular-season matches, equaling the longest streak in club history.

The team shows no signs of slowing down as they continue to net goals at a steady pace and rotate top talent through the starting lineup. Most recently, the team brought in internationally renowned striker Mia Fishel, and as she finds her stride, she joins a group of talented forwards that have contributed to the Reign’s offensive prowess, including Emeri Adames, Lynn Biyendolo, Maddie Dahlien, Jordyn Huitema and Nérilia Mondésir. In total, nine players have scored this season for the Reign, led by Adames, who has recorded five goals this season.

5. Matchup vs. Chicago

Early this season, Seattle and Chicago met at Soldier Field and drew 2-2. The Reign clawed their way back from a two-goal deficit to steal a point on the road. After video review negated a penalty originally awarded to the Reign in the first half, the team had everything to prove in the final 45 minutes. They didn’t get on the board until the 87th minute, when Biyendolo got the comeback started. Soon after, defender Jordyn Bugg struck the game-tying goal. The tense match has laid the foundation for an exciting second meeting as both teams look to earn three points.
